Serial killers get better looking the crazier they get. The Boston Strangler is rather dishy, although I still wouldn’t want him knocking on my door.
Albert DeSalvo AKA The Boston Strangler - (Source Wikipedia)
DeSalvo murdered women of varying age groups ranging from 19 to 85 years old which threw the investigators making them think there was more than one person responsible for the murders. Serial killers tend to have a modus operandi “M.O” which means they stick to the same killing style or victim profile type. They may even leave a calling card of some kind similar to the letters Berkowitz left for the police at some of his crime scenes.
Targeting women with an age gap of at least 66 years between them is rather odd… for a serial killer. To give you an idea of the age differences I have included below an image sourced from Google Images of his victims.
Most of DeSalvo’s victims died from strangulation, generally with an article of their own clothing. What threw police off his trail was the odd stabbing or bludgeoning he exacted out on two other young women.
Like Bundy, DeSalvo used charisma to create trust and charmed his way into the residence of each of his victims. Police were of the opinion that the victims must have known their killer because of the lack of forced entry.
All these discrepancies in DeSalvo’s M.O point to an intelligent young man and not one assumed by authorities to be suffering from Multiple Personality Disorder.
Just remember, these guys are intelligent and can manipulate you so easily. Makes you want to carry mace around with you huh?
