This is one doctor I wouldn’t want to make a house call!
Harold Fredrick Shipman AKA Dr Death – (Source Wikipedia)
Most serial killers manage to kill on average up to 30 odd victims, depending on how long they are active for, and Shipman thinks he may be responsible for up to 457 people over a 25 year period!
Makes Bundy look like an amateur!
When Shipman was convicted and found guilty of only 15 murders in January 2000 the judge recommended that he “Never be released” – Good call!
Shipman was found out by a funeral parlour attendant who expressed concern at the high rate of death among his elderly patients. It turns out that nearly 80% of Shipman’s patients died directly after a house call or visit. It was also strange that many of these patients were cremated and the order to do this was co-signed by Shipman himself. The deaths were written off as “old age” or natural causes but the truth was that Shipman had injected his victims with a lethal dose of Diamorphine.
I found this video on YouTube whilst doing a bit of digging (excuse the pun) on Shipman and I tell ya, it gave me the chills!
Shipman remains the only doctor in British history to be found guilty of murdering his patients. He committed suicide by hanging himself in his cell in January of 2004.
